I just finished first season. Promoted with plenty of points in the bag and without a loss. I really don't think it takes much to do this, any style and formation will porb work!!

I used 3-4-1-2 very attacking style which worked so well with Villa in the prem (won it 2nd season)

I kept hold of my star players except chellini who the chairman sold for 6.5m.

Signed - Higuain (3.1m), Sivok (2.2m), Billy Jones (650k then went straight out on loan) Agbonlahour (loan), aluminia (loan). AVB (1.9m signed in Jan window when I lost chellini)

Buffon
Kovac Tudor Chellini/AVB
Camoranesi Sivok Zanetti Nedved
ADP
Trez BOJ

Star players Buffon, Trez and Camoranesi, which I think you have to keep!!

The major thing I managed to do was reduce my wage bill dramatically to 385k when was orignally 625k.

I had 4m left from end of first season to strengthen as I will be playing 4-4-2diamond in Serie A I will need a left back.

I missed out on a lot of players to Inter in particular as many players choose them because season hadn't come to a close yet and the player views it as if I'm still in Serie B(I hate it when that happens!)

I decided to fork out 1.3m on a left back from Lukoic something from Udinese, he was on loan in Serie B and had a v good season last yr. I'll keep you updated. I do have billy Jones and Birindelli if they both turn out bad.

Also signed Ze Roberto for 350k, old but good.

I know this 2nd season now will be hard, like everyone else i have no money now its passed the 1st July. My wage bill went up to 600k as well from promotional increase.

I need help who to sell to raise funds for my defense? I'm worried that the Chairman wont give me any revenue back if I sell a first teamer now its a year later. I can prob get the wage bill back down to a respectable amount.

Any good loan players, I did like agbonlahor?!

Also what style works best? At home last season I played v attacking, away sometimes I'd play defensive with counter attacking with agbonlahour rather than BOJ up front

I'm gonna prob start with 4-4-2 diamond but any other suggestions?

just though id make a post after starting a juve game, currently on a unbeaten run in serie B everything going nicely and smoothly and securing promotion to Serie A looks a big possability, i have only added 1 person to my squad that being tomas sivok, but as for the transfers out iv been trying to get rid of the aging players and will start to replace them with gems when i get promoted(hopefully) i have del piero and trezequet, as del piero is a very good captain and overall professional, though i am thinking of getting rid of trezequet in order to fund for purchases of new talent

Current Table

Transfers out

i will be posting more screen shots later when i have some time, as for a tactics i currently havea 4-4-2(diamond) and a 4-3-3(with i use trequet as target man)

An update on the post above, after beating torino in the italian cup quaters, i find myself playing inter in the semi's which i lost 2-4(on agg) after this my team went into some loss of form and found it hard to bounce back to tip top form after losing 2 games on the trot it was a worrying prospect of losing the league title to napoli, after drawing the next game i find myself still in first with a game in hand having gotten 58 points with napoli on 55 having played 27, i am currently considering revamping my tactic to secure the title with games to spare for other players to have ago.

As for january Transfer window...
Inter were increasly intrested in my best player this season without a doubt trezquet a 10-15m offer from them would seem very nice, considering trequets age im really considering off loading him for such a big amount, so far my biggest transfer out this season is chiellini who was attracting the likes of chelsea and barca i negotiated with them for 28m and they soon placed that amount, although the broad accepted the offer i was pleased to of sold a player which did not figure in my future plans therefore was not needed, i then found myself with a nice 40m in the transfer kitty ready to spend at my disposal.Although i did not buy any players in the january transfer kitty i do have gerrard pique coming next season for 10m, pique will hopefully replace boumsong in the future, i am expecting to get rid of boumsong in the next transfer window i am also looking in to bring woodgate to juve, as i r madrid only want 4.5m for him.
Anyway id put together some screen shots of my current table, squad and transfers out please feel free to reply

hey lim your just behind me in season terms. I've just got to my first game for the second season.

The only difference is I kept my big names and have limited transfer funds when the summer came. (no Chellini tho)

I managed to get money tho by selling most of the players who came back from loan so your going to be rolling in the money come summer (if the board don't take it off you). I've got 10m at mo but thinking about selling Camoranesi for 7m (i have accepted the bid but don't have anyone to replace him). I've also reduced all my top players to low wages as they seem to accept any lower contract you offer them

Only advice I'd say is try to sign the players you want before July 1st when the board change your transfer budget as you may loose the money. The only disadvanage I found is that when I bid for players other clubs inmterested in them would bid too and the player would choose the other team as they still view you as a Serie B club until July 1st.

Let me know how much of the 40m you have left come next season.

I need to strengthen at the back too, have you bought woodgate? how much and hows he started?

hey Elliotg44, yea i did sell most of the big names but kept afew, am also considering getting rid of trequet as i said in my above posts, as for the broad situation i will get back to you once iv finished my season and am seriousley considering spending the bulk of it before they reduce the amount(as you advised), although as you said players dont seem to be as intrested as they once did to come to such a big club as juve, iv experienced this when i tryed to buy Elano(brazilian AMC) for 10m the offer was accepted by the club, but the player was being increasly intrested by other european top clubs, anyway he turned down my contract and moved to fiorentina who are juve's fierce rivals . I was very upset by this having not captured such a good talent, and im sure next season i will get punished by him when we come to play them.

As for camoranesi he has recently asked for a new contract(due to it expering and him wanting a higher wage), so i accepted and offered him a new contract i didnt want to as i am seriousley trying to keep the wage bill down and am considering selling him before the 2nd season starts(thats if i have a replacement), as for you id sell him for 7m as he is not getting any younger, and you should be able to get some decent replacement in for around 10m, but its your choice by the end of the day.

As for me this season i have set out a number of objectives like:-

Selling ageing stars (cash-in)
Win Serie B comfortably
Overall rebuild the squad
Find a suitable formation to use for the season and beyond

Woodgate has cost me 4m and will be joinging me in the summer in time for new season i also have pique coming who is a future talent and will hopefully play in the squad regularly to gain first team experience.

Don't get why most of you sell Trezeguet, he scored 44 in 46 for me.

I am about to start the second season having bought Gonzalo Rodriguez, Alexis and Anderson for a combined 30 million euros. First season I bought Zapate. I've trained Balzaretti so he can play left midfielder.

My formation in the Serie A will be:
Buffon; Chiellini, Gonzalo Rodriguez, Kovac/Zapata, Alexis; Balzaretti, Paro, Anderson, Camoranesi; Bojinov/Del Piero, Trezeguet;

I sold no big names just got rid of some dead wood and expendable players. Like Tudor, Zalayeta, Miccoli, Olivera, Kapo, Birindelli and Giannichedda.
