I know we are excited to be finishing the PL in 5th, but we have to keep our feet on the ground, if im honest we really are miles behind like likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd etc...
The different between 4th/5th is a bbig one, and not one which we should look to be filling JUST yet. The future looks bright though...
Lets look at our team.
Rob...not world class, i know hes ENG no.1 but there not much choice is there??? Fumbles croses, and wont catch long shots, parrys too much.
Chim...Solid, no problems
Daw...Lightweight, still develpong to do...
King...Too injury prone, good when fit though
Bale...oung and untested, looks quality...but he's 17, how is he going to stand against the likes of Drogba, Ronaldo, v. Persie etc...i fear he could get ripped to shreads this season. Id stick with YP Lee for now...
Len...fast, good runner, pacey, but no end product...
JJ...OK, nothing more or less
Zok...good tackler, but hasnt got a good shot
Mal...runnish really, we need a new winger
Ber...our best player...im fearing we may turn into a one man team though
Keane/Bent...honestly, we payed way over the odds for Bent, hes a good goal scorer, but not world class...Keane is proven...can cover left wing.
When you honestly look at our team, it just isnt quite there yet, what do my fellow spurs fans think???
The top 4 teams are made up or leaders and are all internationals...thats the deiiference in class between the top 4 and the rest of us...
Our only Internationals are Robbo (hardly good tho), Zokora for Ivory, Berba (although what else had Bulgaria got to offer?) and Keane.
...lets not get ahead of ourselves, to be the best we have to beat the best...we have to al least start beating the top 4 at home before we get excited. I dont see that happening with the team we have at the moment...
Spurs need the expierence but at the moment they may as well have the England under 21's. There don't really have enough great players either, all they have is Berbatov and for all we know he could be a flop next season. They could easily achieve UEFA Cup and maybe just maybe challenge for the 4th position.
Spurs have a fantastic chance to get fourth, you were very close a few years back and your team has improved as Arsenal's has gone in the wrong direction. Most probably Arsenal will get fourth but there is no point ruling out Spurs now for a champions league spot.
