Default Help me pick a team please

I have had several attempts to play this game as Sunderland and although i did manage to finish 8th in one game i generally do rubbish as them which is annoying as they are the team i support and love. I have played as Ath Madrid and Sevilla but got bored both times fairly quickly. Man Utd are too easy at the moment which is quite obvious.

So theres my FM08 history question is who should i be i don't mind what country or what level the team is at as long as they have a pretty good board that doesn't interfere too much an average transfer budget and a bit of a challenge.

Tbh, I havent really played as a lot of teams. Mainly Arsenal and had a couple of small games as AC Milan, Valencia and Aston Villa.

Villa is actually quite fun. They have a good squad a good transfer budget to improve it if needed. You could give them a try. Valencia too can be quite a challenge. The problem is they have literally no transfer budget left when you start the game. And while its pretty easy with the first team, the challenge really lies in when you get a few injuries (as I did, had Villa, Silva both out for 2 months and Joaquin out for 7months!! Lol). Their backup is not the best imo so it takes some doing to keep going with them in that case. I only managed to complete the first season with them and came 2nd, a little behind Barca. Didnt really want to pursue after that tbh. But it was a bit of a challenge to play. I kept getting injuries to Silva and Villa here and there and that made it hard. Forget AC Milan. They are pretty easy to play especially one or two seasons. I suppose the real challenge with them would come after season 2/3 when you have to rebuild most of the squad because of their age.

I too started as Man Utd, it was far too easy in 06, 97 and 08. I decided id try Wolves... not too bad, they had healthy budgets and good board, but this most fun i've have playing 07/08 is bring burton Albion to a Champions League Cup win.

Liecster mate, its the way forward. good team set up with a decent first team squad and young back up, plus they arent predicted to go anywhere in the first few years so its a tip for the top

Reading, West Ham, PSG. All average->above average. No ridiculous transfer budgets and could use improvement.
