My real name is Maurice and i come from the Netherlands [shhh]
I searced trough some newsgroups and in one topic this Forum was linked. Then i searched trough this forum and it felt like home, so here i am B7
Photoshop has become an addicted app. for me ;\
Now, i have a question though...
When I use PhotoShop CS, in my render > lighting effect... I can not save my own settings or even load them up. And for some reason i can not use also the default presets.
Is this a bug in PhotoShop CS ? Is there a way to corect this ?
Because PhotoShop 7 works fine with the same filter. Also in Photoshop CS was the 3d filter missing, but i copied it from Photoshop 7 into PS CS and it works! :}

Hi Maurice. Welcome to the forum. Most of us are hooked on PS too! To respond to your question, Lighting Effects works just fine in my installation, nor has your problem been widely encountered here or in the Adobe Photoshop Forums so it is almost certain to be a problem with your installation. In the Mac world, the first thing to try would be to trash the preference file and relaunch PS to see if the problem is gone. If that doesn't work, I'd first repair permissions (Mac OS X) before performing a completely new installation. In Windows, I couldn't guess.
About that 3D filter. For some reason it was removed from the regular installation in CS but included as an optional plugin along with Texture Fill in the Goodies > Optional Plug-ins > Filters folder found on the install CD. Why this was done is a mystery!
Maybe it is indeed an installation problem, so what i am now gonna do is to find out how the trial version of Photoshop wil respond on my system. Otherwise i always can try an fresh OS-installation on my second system with a fresh PS CS intallation.
I just ran into a bit of information about Lighting Effects on the Adobe Photoshop for Mac forum. It seems that if you have something copied to the clipboard (size isn't specified but the person whose problem was solved had a largeish item copied) Lighting Effects may not work properly. Clearing the clipboard resolves the issue and Lighting Effects proceeds to work normally. It does seem that there may be a bug after all.

Cheers!
Tnx, Welles for your information! [righton] Well, it`s not a very big problem that all the preset lighting effects won`t work, but it`s a bit of enoying ;\ But with this information you brought me on some ideas.
