Sometimes fellow Newcastle but mainly other supporters have a negative attitude to Martins. I personally do not understand this at all as he done really well for us since he joined in August 2006 for 10 million from Inter Milan. His goals last season probably played a very big part in keeping us in the Premier League, infact you might say Oba and Shay as a double act kept us in the Premier League.
Since Martins joined us 14 months ago he has scored 22 goals in 49 appearances and 5 of them have been scored so far this season. 22 goals in 49 appearances surely means that Oba deserves a lot more credit than he gets for his goalscoring.
At the moment rumours seem to be going around about how he is not happy at Newcastle and that this is because he doesn't start every game. Well at the moment he is stamping his mark by scoring goals, so this means that it will be interesting to see what happens when Viduka is back from his calf injury!
I personally think Oba is happy at the Toon.
