How do I use textures.

I got a pack of textures from there and were JPG's. I load them up but nothing is going right.

How do I use them?

You may add them in layers with different blending modes and opacity levels, sometimes deleting some parts or applying some effects, or (more professional) you may save them as psd and apply them with Effects>>Texture>>Texturiser, by loading them from the black arrow button.

It's hard to use that jpg over a render. You should search for psd files of this kind, in order to keep just the shape you want without the background.
If I understand well, you don't really know how to work with layers, do you?
Here is a tutorial.

Hey!

What I normally do is after extracting that image to a file where i have my texture collections, I open that in PS and I put it over where I want it and then set the right blending mode to what is needed.

So.. basicly open it up and put it over and just set the blending to what I want and if the right blend the black background should go leaving just the texture part.?

It is easy dude; just drag the texture to the canvas with your render and set the blending options to lighten or screen
