I like the way you thought about the background, but I think it should have been a little more uniform. I think those bright spots are in an upper layer. You should blur them more or lower the opacity. There's also some shapes on top of his hair, which I'm not sure you've wanted.
But overall, I think it's pretty original and may prove to be very elegant.

Bg is good mate, simple but fits well, just think it could have a bit more of dark colors in brush, render is ok, needs some blending, but it's fine, text is simplem, but with another render is would fit well
