@ Pirlo: There will be two ways to apply to the new forum. The first is a thread on this forum that is not yet open but will be soon. The other way will be a contact form on the new website when it is up. When you click on "forum" in the navagation of v6, it takes you to a community application form. So, those are the two ways.
@GFX_lover: I can't really guarantee that there won't be anymore hacking. However, it's not a mainstream script for the forum and it will be hidden from people to see. So really, they'll have to play a guessing game on the script type. I don't really know what will happen with hackers, but I hope they just go away.
@oba: Since the public forum is getting scrapped, there will be a lot less bandwidth usage. We are also expanding the new site and we'll still make money to run the site don't worry. We've thought about it quite a bit and Amaresh and I talked about the operating costs and how it will impact this. The forum actually slows down the server quite a lot compared to the rest of the site, and the most viewed part of
soccer-art is the wallpapers gallery. We have a lot more traffic than our forum shows. I mean, we get 350 thousand unique visitors each month and we get only about 300 at most new members in a month. So 0.1% of our visitors are interested by the community, and only about 25% of those end up making a post. So I mean, most people don't come to
soccer-art for the forum, so we are expanding the site for the general viewer. But we know that some still do come for the forum, so we have a way they can petition to be in it. This way we leave no one out, we lower the bandwidth usage, we improve the community, and kill all kinds of other birds with the v6 stone.
edit: Don just answered your question before me too. Now that don is back, we can say customer service is back too.
