You can add extra layers with different lightning on top of each other to get more complicated lightning. The only thing you have to do is to set the blending mode of every extra layer to 'Lighten'

And you can copy and past secected parts of the lightning together to get more "controlled" effects.
after every thunderstorm, there is a rainbow.
ever tried creating that by manipulating channels?

Nope, never tried....lol @ the rainbow..well I need them lightnings 'cuz I'm gon make a site for a friend of mine who has a band called Native Thunder, they are natural indians from USA, they play rock...if someone is interested...http://nativethunder.iuma.com They sound cool to me...maybe you will like them too... Thanx for the advice :} ...I'm gon try it.

Hey and don't forget about using the SMUDGE tool afterward also to add some "spikes" (small branches) to your lightning bolts.
Use a very small, 3-5px, brush and set the "Size Jitter" in the Options palette to "Fade". Set the amount to around 25-50. You'll need to change this amount as you create the spikes that are further out along the larger spikes.
PS: don't forget to duplicate your original layer for a backup.

Well...lol I wouldn't call it exactly a "self promition"..lol, but if ya like it like that, it's aight.. [bustagut] , I wrote it just like an info if someone is interested..
