Default Trust Wenger

Although I'm as disappointed as everyone else about this morning's news, it's important that we think about this rationally.

Henry's game is largely about his pace and having turned 30 that asset is now in decline. While he is still a major talent there is no question that we have seen the best of him and this could well prove the best time for him to go (remember what was said about Patrick Vieira?)

Even if we don't buy a replacement striker, our forward line still has the capacity to score plenty of goals next season. Robin Van Persie is fully recovered from his injury now and we can expect him to get 25+ this year, and we also have the rapidly improving Adebayor, Niklas Bendtner and the sublime Theo Walcott.

Walcott in particular will benefit from Henry's departure as it means we can now expect to see him playing in his best position. This kid is a prodigous talent, with exquisite ball control and more pace than Henry had at his prime. He has also proved that he can both score and create goals by the bucket load - just as Henry did for us.

I think everyone in the club can agree that Henry was not the best person to captain the side, and with him gone I expect Gilberto to step up and do an excellent job for us, as he has done last season when deputising for Henry.

One last point for those that think this transfer spells the end of our title and champions league ambitions: We played most of last season without Henry, and yet we were still competitive, indeed it was only our performances against weaker opposition that let us down - this will not happen again!

Trust Wenger - he has led the club to great succeses over the past 10 years and he will do so again
