How do you just add a border, about 10 pixels wide, to a layer?

Hello, WarmingTheCurb.

There are a few ways you can do that, and those are ones that I use often:

1. Go to Edit> Stroke> 10px ( and chose the color of your border)
This only works on a layers.

2. If you want to have a border on background layer ( locked one)
than you have to make a path and stroke the path with the
brush size 10 px.
