Football in my opinion is spiralling out of controll! The cost of players in the transfer market increase every year. This is accompanied by the rediculous amount of money each player gets a week!!! There is no man on this planet that is worth £100,000 a week! For that matter no man is worth £20,000 a week. (Which is still more than a make in a year! And then the football clubs are left with a problem. Where do we get all this money for wages? Well the answer is us! The yearly rise in wages is followed by ticket price increases, increase in the price of food and drinks in the ground, and an increase in the price of merchandise. The game has gone away from the people. We are the ones that suffer. So while are so called hero's buy there mansions and ferrari's we the people, the heart and soul of every club find it hard to afford to make it to a match! By the time the average man has got the train to the match, bought a match program, had a snack and a drink in the ground and gone for pint after the game the its nearly half a weeks wages! (For some people more). So what can can be done i hear you ask? Well why not have a wage cap. There is no man i no that couldn't survive on £10,000 a week. "What if the players strike" i was aked by a friend of mine when i presented this idea to him. LET THEM. You will soon see the real football hero's then, the footballers who play because they are passionate about the game and their club. The one's who fullfilled their dream as a young boy to play the greatest sport in the world on the greatest stages in the world. Why should we the fans suffer, after all it is because of us that the sport is possible. So lets not be the victims in todays high powered and high paid football society. The great footballers of the sixties and seventies are the real hero's the ones who played because they loved the game and their fans. todays footballers should be ashamed of themselves. the fans are the biggest part of the game, let us have it back?
