Brilliant tackler, good at reading the game in defence and very good in the air, he does however make it hard for our players to get the ball down and play decent football, why? Because he hoofs the ball too much. There is not one player in the Premiership that has played as many long balls as Jamie Carragher this season.
I seriously don't know why he doesn't keep a cool head and pass it to Agger or Hyypia rather than either hoofing it or trying to play it long to Kuyt. He's a brilliant leader at the back but the way he plays the ball when in possesion really does frustrate me. Does anyone else get frustrated by this part of his game?
This might also be down to our movement off the ball though, Alonso & Gerrard are not mobile players off the ball, I watch every Liverpool game and when they haven't got the ball they are walking.. the only player who is mobile off the ball is Mascherano.. this is why we should hold on to him and sign him for good.
Yeah.. I agree he is fantastic but when he has the ball he panics to much and just boots it up the field, Reminds me of Mjallby when he played with Celtic and Valgaren also they couldnt keep there cool and just booted it up the park then Balde started it.
