Once i've downloaded the textures how do i get them on my file??

You need to open them in photoshop, next:
Ctrl + a > select all texture
Ctrl + c > copy it
go to your file
Ctrl + v > paste texture into your file
then use right mouse button and select Free Transform
Resize and move you texture.
Double click on texture > quiy from free transform mode
