Default Need my sky back....

I was wondering if someone would help me bring the sky back in my pic. It was a cloudy day but the photo is white in the sky area.

beedy, ya really got to start learning to use photoshop instead of just posting all your pics here for everyone else to work on for you.

You might also want to check out a photography course at PPCC, or try taking your Garden of the Gods pictures at about 10 am on a nice day.

Default Need my sky back....

I am trying to learn different types of picture adjustments. I can use curves to adjust my pic but it changes everything. I guess that the question is how do I isolate the sky so that I can change it without changing too much of the rest of the pic...

Sorry if it seems as if I am trying to get free photo restoration.

P.S.
Does PPCC offer classes in Photoshop? If so, I'm there!!!1

I tried using adjustment layers to recreate my blown out sky and this is my result. Please, any feedback would be accepted.

Over exposed sky can be a real pain in the butt

I dont think an adjustment layer will give you quite what you are looking for beedyb220,so I would suggest the same as MsOz and if you are able to take a pic of some sky {maybe in the same place again} and composite it in.

You could try a hue and sat adjustment layer and move into the cyan area to try and and build some color back in again, use a bit of gradient as well and see how that looks

Hey sergey there is a limit on the width of pictures you can post on the boards, and I'm pretty sure you've exceeded it here. [shocked]

Don't try to fix everything with Photoshop. It's not just about adding some sky, since the result will always look a bit unnatural.
If you take a picture on a sunny day with a nice blue sky and a few clouds, then your whole scene will look different compared to a scene shot on a cloudy day, late or early in the morning. The contrast, darkness/length of the shadows, haze, color, etc, they all will be different.
See, it's simple to remove the white sky and replace it with a some nice blue sky with a few clouds that you found on the Internet, but it will only correct the sky and not the whole scene and the result is nothing more but an improvisation.

Try it out, mask out the sky and place a nice sky layer underneath and look at the result; you'll notice what I mean.

Btw, I had to go back to edit my post and couldn't find the edit button... \:]
Then I discovered that your picture was 2000 pixels wide! [shocked]

I don't know about any limits on this board, but 2000 pixels is just wayyyy to wide for a board like this, because I don't think that our members love scrolling left and right to be able to read every post in this thread.

Just my two cents
