Any other MMA fans on board. I am a keen fan of The Ultimate Fighter, the current of which is The Ultimate Fighter 5 which airs on a Tuesday, at 11pm pn Bravo. Sixteen of the best up-and-coming mixed martial artists in the lightweight division (155lbs) from around the world will be featured in Season 5 of Spike TV’s hit original series, “The Ultimate Fighter." Former UFC Lightweight Champion Jens Pulver and former UFC Welterweight Champion B.J. Penn will serve as coaches.
In a first for “The Ultimate Fighter” franchise, coaches Penn and Pulver will fight each other in the show’s live finale in late June. The two fought previously in January 2002 at UFC 35, where Pulver won by a majority decision in a grueling 5-round title fight. The series is once again hosted by UFC President Dana White.
Anyone catch UFC 70 a few weeks back.The PPV was live from Manchester and was pretty good. Some crap bouts but the Bisping fight and Cro Cop made up for all the rest and were real exciting. In the main event Mirko Cro Cop got knocked unconscious by a flying kick to the head which was pretty awesome and totally unexpected. The biggest cheer of the night was Mike Bisping as he was the hometown hero and he beat his opponent to a bloody pulp.
There were a number of celebs in attendance. For example Ronaldo was joined by fellow United stars Michael Carrick, Darren Fletcher, and Tomasz Kuszczak. Craig Bellamy was also there as was Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Amir Khan.
Here is a clip of Cro Cop getting knocked out. Its a bit irnoic that one of the deadliest strikers in the fighting world who specialises in kicks to the head gets knocked out by one.
Anyone I suggest you at least give the UFC a go people. You may be pleasantly surprised.
Yeah I like it, I'm going to watch the Chuck Vs. Jackson fight tomorrow night at 10pm. It's going to be awesome. I got Jackson beathing him again....I hate Chuck.
Yeah, me too although I will be watching it on Sunday evening as that is when it is shown here. I am a massive Chuck fan and hope he whips Rampages ass.
