Hi all
Putting together some business cards for personnel use, collected a few to get some ideas from & cant seem to get the type style right on the address section, gonna use a handwritten type text for the main name but lost a bit on the address section any ideas or suggestions on common ones used out there including type sizes the cards are 90mmx60mm or even just types you people prefer is a good start

Everyone will have their own opinions as to how things should and could be laid out... but something to keep in mind are basic design princicples. One of which is Contrast. Large heavy fonts are often complimented well by the use of small thinner fonts. Ok, vague.. here's more detail. If you have a large "handwritten" style heading, try using a smaller (possibly condensed) font. I would choose a sans-serif font first. See.. contrast. Handwritten fonts are typically considered decorative fonts. To balance it, use a clean sans serif or maybe a slab serif font.
Personally, when it comes to address information (or phone, email, web site), you want to make that as clean and easy to read as possible. Save the createve "frilly" stuff for your logo and other acutreatments. If your card is hard to read, you run the risk of someone not wanting to read it. [excited]
Have you got any examples you can show us?

| That's the best advice there is! Rules for using type are so subjective that each good designer would establish different ones. After all there is no accounting for taste and no premiere taste. Some people do like plaids and bassoon solos.
The only small additional point I'd add to bigcloud's advice is that if your cards are going to be given to people over 60, make the type of the address etc. a bit bigger so they don't have to get out the magnifying glass. (I've gotten to the magnifying glass stage for tiny computer generated type.)
Have fun!

I have to "chime in" . Rather than using Adobe, I have had much better luck using a businesscard-making application. Many are bundled in with your word processing application. Their type fonts are more suitable for smaller areas. Most allow you to bring in pictures, etc. Same with labels.
I used MS Office recently and my cards and labels turned out so much better than the ones I did in Adobe in the past. This is one of the few projects I have found that another application is better than Adobe. I don't think Adobe will be too worried about me saying that! [bustagut] [bustagut] [bustagut]
Also the handwritten type fonts really aren't too clear when reduced to fit on a card. [saywhat] [saywhat] [saywhat]
