well im back asking questions learned loads since i last posted and the help given was invaluable from you all.(thank you)
my new dilemma is looking at designing a logo, had ideas like a globe with text running round the middle like the rings around saturn might be talking rubbish but thats the sort of idea.
the other bit i cant get my head round is text running all the way round the edge of a circle in effect a circle of text !!!
a few ideas on the globe or a sphere shape and bending the text round the middleof it would be a good starter at least this would get me thinking straight

ps need to be careful on detail if its used for stationary as well as a website
Try sketching out 5-6 different versions/views of what you are considering. Pick the best 2-3 of those and try to refine your idea in terms of size and proportion.
Do a web search for Photoshop text in a circle tutorials. Look here for Mark's tutorials, work on what you're thinking of. Then post what you've done here on the boards with any further questions.
Actually i DO have a tute for the circle of text effect. It's actually more indepth than that though... as in "text on a path". But you can learn what you need to know from it in your case.
As for the text around the middle, that will require either the Spherize tool, and some work/patience... or the Type Warp filters; which would be a cleaner effect.
Experiment with both of those to get a feel for which you'd prefer.
