Default Need help saving!!

Can someone help...
I created a flyer for my friend and I saved it, the file is to huge to send via email. I don't want to flatten it incase Kinko's needs to alter the file to print.
Its a 81/2 X 11 doc with all text and one color jpeg

I did a save as for a BMP and that was bigger than the psd format..I'm new to this, I know there has to be a way!! Its driving me crazy! [confused]

thank you-
Cheri

If it isn't flattened, it cannot be a jpeg. Luckily.

The problem is that the size of your work decides the number of pixels, and every layer adds to this. If you work for print, you need 266 pixels per inch to get a good quality print.

If your friend has Photoshop, then you can manually split the file up and save all the layers separately. After which you can compress them using zip, rar or sit and send them to him with clearly discernable names (including the stacking order number.
He can unzip, unrar or unsit them and rebuild the file in PS.
