Mourinho complained in the winter transfer market about the inflated transfer prices on players. But it was him and abramovich that caused this problem. EG paying 19m,5m-10m more than they should off for Damien Duff. They also payed over the top for players like Robben,Cole(A)and Shevencho, so they could out price other clubs who were looking them. Now we have the problem like Darren Bent, who I don't think has scored for England, injured for most off last season, couldn't help Charlton too stay up in the Premiership, and now Charlton want 16-18m for him. When is this going too stop. Is it a wonder why the top teams are buying so many players in Europe and elsewhere.
Very good point. And now we have West Ham doing it. Bent is not worth a penny over 12 mil and that is being generous. It happened with Lucas Neill, Liverpool offered a fair wage, but no West Ham, we'll blow our wage structure apart and offer a player who's best days are behind him 60k a week!
You need a small lesson in economics.
It's called supply and demand. If there is only one team interested in a player then that team will get the player cheaply. If there are 2 or more then the price will rise. It's simple rarely.
The 17,not 19,for Duff was high but there was another bid of 15 from someone so Chelsea raised the price, simple.
Robben and Cole are really bad examples as both were cheap.
