Sorry to be the devil's advocate here, but the brushing looks as if it was inserted by a filter, it doesn't look as if you carefully chose where to brush. Plus the render and Bg looks too stock. Keep experimenting however, its just that at your level my expectations were higher.

Actually, I did the brushing by hand and did carefully chose where to put it and erased to make it work with the player render.
