HI, I'm new to all this and just thought I would start a thread, posting my 1st pieces of work and hopefully get some tips on how I could improve. Hopefully as the thread goes on we will see some progression in my work! Here are some of my first pieces.

thx any suggestions for improvements? and I'm new to all this and after looking at other peoples work its a lot better and different to mine, i don't know about render and other terms. I was just wondering if anyone knows of a good tutorial i could use? Any links posted would be greatly appreciated thx

Ok, first things first. Make sure you use large pics for renders. Baptista looks a little bit blurry and pixelated. To find good sized pics go to the pic dump.
Your cutting looks a little dodgy but that will improve over time.
Try using some brushes to spice up the background. Also, it would probably be better to make the colouring of the piece more red, as Arsenal = red.
The little bit of grass looks a bit tacky tbh.

Anyway, a decent try, just keep practising!
