No, they're exactly the same, because that's why they have a different name and price tag.

If I remember correctly, Elements doesn't have a Channels palette. Suck Factor: 110%.

Doesn't have layer masks or curves either amongst other 'high end' features and I don't think it has user definable guides

Hi Balduvia and welcome to the forum.

I apologize for the "smart-alecky" reply you got on your first post. I can assure you that not all our members are this sarcastic when a serious "newbie" question is posted.

This should answer your question... http://www.adobe.com/digitalimag/pdf...ison_chart.pdf - be sure to check out Page 2.

Welcome Balduvia!

To answer your question, in brief, PS Elements is "Photoshop Lite," acutally a more powerful version than the old Photoshop LE. It's meant for the amateur or beginner, focussing mainly on importing and correcting digital photos. Its reason for being seems to be to make simple photo correction easy for those who don't need the full power of Photoshop itself.

Photoshop itself is a very powerful, complex program meant for professionals or those who want to go there Yes, there is a huge price difference.

To find out more, a good start is at Adobe's site. Check out both Photoshop & Elements and compare, the decide what you need.
