Default some slicing questions....

hi there....

i'm not new to photoshop but not so familiar with its webdesign functions, such as slicing for example. I made a design in PS and sliced it up. Unfortunately the design is not very simple so it created a lot of slices.

1. problem:
I have a lot of smaller slices, where even the slice number and its content symbol covers nearly the half of the slice. Is there some kind of "unsliced" view where the slice informations are not displayed?

2. problem:
I do the following workflow: Creeating and designing in PS, then swithing to IR and save optimized as HTML. When I do this I get very large files with lots of pictures in the empty slices. These pictures often are approx. 1 KB but the alltogether it makes a rather big HTML File with lots of the 1KB pix... Is there a way to avoid this?

Thanks in advance for your help ...

Hi b-2, welcome to the community. Hope you enjoy your stay. [honesty]

I wanna offer some advice, and i know your questions can be resolved quite simply. But i'm getting a feeling that i can offer an alternative solution if i could see a simple sample of your design. It doesn't need all the details, just the main design elements.

I believe your answer lies in ergonomic slicing.

Yep, I too would like to see an example. It does sound like you have some slices that can be combined, but it's impossible to tell without seeing them.

As for the 1kb "images" I assume you're talking about empty spaces where you don't want images. You can turn those into non-image slices in the slice palette. But again, I think the main problem...too many small slices...should be addressed first.

P.S. Mark, I never thought of it as "ergonomic slicing" but you're right
