Default Chelsea scout hates entertainment

Here is a criticism that a chelsea scout,De Visser, who recommended John Obi Mikel to Chelsea, has made of Nani: "This boy is, as far as his skills are concerned, a super talent. He had his training with Sporting Lisbon and technically he is so good, he is almost perfect. But I also stress that despite all his talent he may not be right for the Premier League. His crosses are sometimes OK, sometimes bad. He dribbles too much with the ball because he wants to entertain, not because he wants to be effective. Cristiano Ronaldo had the same problem when he first played for United."

Can anyone understand why chelsea will always be regarded as a boring team? I find it difficult to understand how a teenager like Nani cannot adapt in the epl after Ronaldo has done just that. What do you think?

You cant say Chelsea will always be boring for starters. What about the season when they had Robben and Duff on top form?
If England played like Chelsea, as in not so entertaining but very effective I for one wouldnt complain.

Rooney08, so what does the quote have to do with Chelseas tactics?

The paragraph sums it up perfectly, nani is not the finished article, he needs to improve the end result and perhaps the Premier league with its pace and physicality is not the stage where to master the final pieces.

It all makes perfect sense, if a pundit had said it you would have no doubt nodded in approval but because a Chelsea scout mentions it you twist it into a negative posting towards Chelsea.

I remember robben and joe cole being lambasted and replaced by their manager for trying to entertain rather than being robotic. There are certain players who express themselves and play better only when allowed the freedom to do so. Look at Ronaldinho for example, stop him from doing his tricks and see if he will be the same player. Fans want to watch games and take some fun memories home with them. I guess if it was just down to results and effectiveness, we would all stay home and check the result after 90minutes.
