Default PS7 Brushes

Hi Everyone. I've been lurking around for quite a while. I'm (trying) to learn PS7. The question I have is regarding brushes. I have so many when I try to look at them they go off the right side of the screen! I know there must be a better way to manage brushes.
Thank you for any suggestions

Hi scrappinsandi,

I use a Mac so there may be a slight difference between what you see and I'm posting but this will make sense, I hope.

Your options to manage your brushes come down to changing the dropdown menu window size, the way they are displayed, or resetting your brushes palette to default and just loading those brushes which you think you will need. To resize your brush palette you can just drag the menu window to fit your size needs and the brush icon/text preview images will adjust themselves accordingly (red arrow is drag point on Mac). To access the drop down menu options click on the little arrow near the top of your menu (blue arrow). There you will find different sizes of icon and text options which can save significant space in the menu (red rounded rectangle). You also could become familiar with all your sets of brushes and just load those which you will need for a given project, returning to the default brushes in between jobs (blue rounded rectangle).

One feature of PS which you might wish to look at while you are figuring out your brushes is the Preset Manager. This gives you the ability to rename, delete, move around, or save to files for transfer any of the presets such as Styles, Brushes, Custom Shapes, Gradients, Patterns and more. It is a very handy feature available from the individual menus or File > Preset Manager...

Good Luck!
