Default I have had it enough, Lampard Issue!

To be honest i am quite bored of these moanings of england fans or rival clubs against Frank Lampard. Every post is the same about him. Drop him, Boo him, Jeer him, Fat frank, blah blah blah.

Get a life lampard haters. Form is temporary but class is permenant. Don't forget he was voted best england player for 2 years. What i don't understand is that people don't think of the reasons he is under performing these days. One, he is having too much of football lately. the 2nd reason won't fall good on Gerrard lovers which is in my point of view as following,

Lampard haters all say Frank is not giving Gerrard too much space but frankly its the other way around. Should gerrard be rested for a game or two then see how Lampard performs. Gerrard comes in Lampard's way alot which overshadows Lamps performance. I know i am going to get screwed for this by the Liverpoolians and perhaps other childish England fans or Gerrard lovers. But for once think its not Lampard who is coming in Gerrards way but the other way around. Neither is Gerrard scoring nor is he letting Lampard do what he is best at doing.

As a Chelsea fan I say drop Lampard so when we under perform again it won't be his fault.

Remember how Beckham was booed? How people wanted him out of the team?

No thought not....

Beckham was dropped and now he is back, he is god apparently....

It just shows how fickle most English fans are... I don't have time for it.

I guarantee if the roles were reversed and Gerrard was playing for Chelsea and Lampard for Liverpool then Gerrard would get the stick because this was started by the media…. And all the English sheep follow…

Who's next?

Owen?
Joe Cole?
JT?
Rio?

Oh wait they have McClaren to blame.

Gerrard playing in the more defensive midfield role for England to accomodate the underperforming Lampard is ridiculous.

This issue isn't about hating Chelsea, its about recognising that Lampard has grossly underperormed for his country for over two seasons. Joe Cole and Terry are in the team for good footballing reasons, Lampard clearly is not.

Gerrard has scored as many goals as Lampard for England playing as the defensive midfielder or on the right side of midfield. When he has had the limited opportunities to play as the AMC he has done well.

Accept it for the good of the national team Lampard needs to be dropped and Gerrard should be moved into the position he has vacated with hargreaves or Carrick operating as DM depending on the opposition.

I personally think lampard is great and i'm not a fan of chelsea either, but i do think Gerrard is a better player, if i had to pick one or the other i would pick Gerrard first i'm affriad. But i totally agree the abuse for Lamps is stupid and very childish.

I think the reason McClown put Gerrard out right when he dropped becks was so he could play lampard in an advanced midfield role, with Hargreaves holding, if Beckham was to miss england games again i think this is the way i would go aswell...

Just ignore the Fat Frank stuff, anyone with eyes can see he isn't fat, and anyone that nkows anything about football can see he's a quality players... although he hasn't been in the best of form recently for england, who has... i thought he worked very hard last two games and doesn't deserve such pathetic jibs and digs.

I personally think the england midfield should be

hargreaves (DM)
J.Cole (LW)
beckham (RW)
Gerrard (AM)

I hate chelsea and frank lampard but he is not a bad player. He is playing really bad though, Thats the thing.

Noone can argue that he shouldn't be dropped, surely, because his form currently is diabolical. There needs to be an understanding from chelsea fans thats just because he plays for you he isn't the best that england have on offer.

He's a good player, but put simply Gerrard is a better player in the same position, therefore pushing frankie baby into second place.

Hargreaves/Carrick - A defensive minded player with vision should be played instead to bring a bit of stability to the england midfield.

England - Estonia stats:

Shots On, Shots Off, Blocked Shots, Fouls, Fouls Won, Assists, Key Passes, Good Passes, Bad Passes, Tackles, Clearances, Recoveries

F Lampard 0 1 0 0 0 0 1 53 12 7 1 3
S Gerrard. 0 0 0 2 2 0 1 43 12 2 2 1

I am a researcher and evaluate data on a daily basis. Can someone please show me which of these statistics shows that Gerrard is a much better player than Lamps. Or is that an opinion based on something far too complicated for me to understand?

How about using your eyes to evaluate which player is best rather than regurgitating spurious statistics?

I remember the good old days when you could just watch a game of football, and see who had a good game and who did not.

Against Estonia both Lampard and Gerrard were average, neither of them played well. However, its fair to say that for the last two years I cannot remember Frank Lampard having ONE good game for his country.

Dan the thing is you can claim to see it one way, I can claim to see it another which is typically how these discussions go, judging who is correct is another matter. Using stats gives another perspective.

This is not about Lampard being better than Gerrard, it is about Lampard getting blamed consistantly.

Both Lampard and Gerrard have been played out of position recently, Lampard holding, Gerrard right side (assunming the free role brings out the best in him).

If both had an average game the stats help show Gerrard on this occasion as less average yet Lamps gets the stick. It is tedious.

Dan

How did you determine that those statistics were spurious and what makes you think that your eyes are so much more reliable than measurable facts?

Using statistics as a measure of a players ability is flawed. They can be useful and informative nothing more

For example according to the official Barclays Premiership Statistics Ivan Campo has outperformed Michael Essien this season.

If statistics is your bag how do you feel that in over 50 games as the attacking midfield player for his country Frank Lampard has produced a total of one assist?
