I tried to upload a 9k pic for an avatar but it didn't show it. how can i know if it worked? if it didn't how do i fix it? [confused]

Hmm not sure limit is 10k so it should have been alright.What format is your tar?,ie jpg or gif.If its a jpg or a gif and its also 9k then maybe try once more

i went to profiles hit the browse button selected the pic (jpg) and then hit submit . did it work and i just can't see it myself?

newvitae welcome ... it could be that your avatar is bigger than 75x75 pixels (it can be smaller) ... even if it is 1 pixel too big it won't be posted

Good suggestions here; the size factor, the image type (in your case, a jpg...just make sure it really is a jpg. Also, make sure the name is in the proper format..no spaces, a . (dot) in between the name of the file and the file extension.

Not treating you like an idiot...I've put an inadvertent space in a name myself ;\

How to create an Avatar

Avatars are small graphical images that you may choose in your profile. They are displayed below your username on all posts that you make. You can select the image that best describes yourself from your profile options.


click on Profile, right top of each page

scroll downwards, until you see a section called Avatar control panel

go to the section Upload avatar from your machine

click on the browse button

select you file on your hard drive

click on open

click on Submit

The maximum size of the avatar is 75 by 75 pixels and the file size should be kept under 10 KB.
