for a Mac vs PC debate
What....with the new G5 out and about, which Apple claim to be the fastest Desktop in the market now with twin 2Ghz G5 chips, it would be interesting to see how many diehard mac fans are still about.
Personally I cant stand them, although OS 10 is an improvement as far as operability is concerned. I also think, those within the industry who are diehard Mac fans are more into their trendy appearance and price tag then anything else. I dont find them any more reliable then a PC, and anyone who says they dont crash are lying.
Whatsmore, now that they auction off their manufacturing to the cheapest bidder, they are going even more down hill I think hehe.
At the end of the day, Apple only snares 4% of the market, so 96% of those who will use our work are using PC's.

I'll save some time here Erik, thx.
First off... this is not a "Photoshop" subject. And thus doesn't belong in this board. I'm moving it to the "Other Interests" board.
Second... this doesn't really sound like a flame war. More a matter of what people feel toward Mac due to some changes in their creation/manufacturing status. Nothing about PCs has changed in this regard, so there isn't really much to "debate" about this.
We shouldn't have to worry about this "becoming" a flame though either... if people don't want to partake in this subject, they simply won't. But if a "debate" should ensue, please be civil. |

lol fair enuff
Personally I think it has everything to do with photoshop, I think anyone who uses photoshop and is seriously thinking about entering the industry, is faced with the daunting task of deciding which side of the fence to sit on at some point.
I mean hey, we all want the best possible system we can too push those pixels, and so I thought might be interesting to see what people think and why. And seeing that there seems to be a alot of hype surrounding apple's release it would be something people in the industry might want to delve into.
But I guess thats just me hehe |

No fair enuff also... like i said, in a round-about way... it's a fair question. I just don't know how many folks will jump into it because it has the making of a flame war... and i think folks are just over that subject.
Also... i can understand how this topic may be indirectly related to Photoshop, but it's not specifically a "Photoshop" topic. And that's why i moved it.
It had nothing to do with trying to "bury" the thread. Trust me. [honesty] I wouldn't do that. Not that you were insinuating that... i just wanted to point that out while i was here. :B

With all the tech marketing thrown our way on television, magazines etc...how can anyone be over the subject? Its in our face every day. Apple's release of OS10 (and Adobe's decision to release Illustrator 11 and Photoshop 8 as being incompatible with anything less then OS10) and the new G5 puters is pretty big news I thought. I dont think I go by a week day without hearing someone curse a Mac or Defend them hehe.
Most of the time i do all the cursing though lol. Today I went through 3 lab Macs trying to read my Zip, if they werent freezing, the zip was getting stuck....

First Comp I ever owned was an Amiga 2000 I think that what they were called, or 200, or 250 sumthin like that anyhows. That was like hmmmm.....hmmmm....hmmmmm 10 years ago maybe. What the 'ell were u using 25 years ago??? <shudders>
I gotta say, I am actually starting to remember there was a time I didnt have a puter around, and that EFTPOS didnt exist, or ATMs, or cell phones, and that Buck Rodgers was cool and Battle Star Galactica's special effects were awesome! And that Pac Man had the best graphics.
Its only been about 5 years since the Internet exploded and yet it feels a life time.
Wow, my head is spinnin now.
