Wins the world cup in a stunner. Gets announced Euro footballer of the year and today was announced Fifa World Player of the year, one of the few defensemen to ever get that award.

I haven't looked it up, but I would assume that he's the first player let alone defensemen ever to obtain all three achievements in the same year, and if not the first, then he's part of an extremely elite group...

He was a very good player before the world cup, but to be honest i didnt see alot of him, nor did i hear alot of him.
