Default Constructive criticism

People on this site do not know the meaning of constructive criticism. I know my work isn't great, it's not meant to be I'm only a beginner and I'd say at most I've got a decent reply from one member. Everyone else has said the work is bad, which is fine, but they don't say how it could be improved etc. How are newb's meant to get better?

I know the concepts of Constructive Crit, people give it out in different ways, it entirely depends on thier taste and the Graphic you have made.

Newb's can get better Various ways besides Comments on your Works.

Try Tutorial sites, such as goodtutorials.com, pixel2life. They can help you improve and generate Ideas.

Go on deviantart.com and look for Brushes and Textures, they help.

Graphics is all about Ideas, what you think is good and how to execute it. So why not look at other peoples works, and it may aspire you to create something which in the end maybe really good.

You will make something that people will like, as there are loads of people on here who have thier own diverse taste and personalities.

Paitence is a key in graphics, over time you will get a decent level. It may not be fantastic or brilliant, as that isn't always the case - but you will improve no matter how big/small it is. Just keep at it

Well you get that im afraid. We (The Admins & Graphic Artists) are trying to dilute those sort of Comments out, because of that reason really. Cause you get f all out of it.

Do you comment on other peoples works? Commenting on other peoples works is an appriciation and people may comment on yours.

People do, you're just not on here a lot to appriciate it and see it. Just because you arent' getting any decent Comments doesn't mean you can tar people under the same brush. Not everyone is like that, you just need to see and look around on the Boards.

Well having about 11 posts really proves you comment on peoples works a lot......

Practice, practice, practice, practice.

Comments don't help anyways. The only way you will improve is to focus on making something unique, something you like -not something "others" will like-. Constructive criticism is beneficial in a way, but if you want to improve just keep playing around and don't get caught up in lack of quality comments. I don't get quality criticism either, and I'm an admin. Instead.. people say "I like it! Good job!" Even though it is positive.. it is not helpful in any way. But obviously comments weren't what made me improve. So don't worry about it.

I think the best way to learn is just look at works that you like and try to learn something from them. Also keep your mind open wherever you are, because you can get the best ideas from the strangest things.

Remember that art is not just about technique, it's about imagination. So don't just stick to tutorials and copying other peoples styles, you should rather make your own kind of style.

Don't let the comments get you down, I've been making graphics for about year and a half on/off, and I rarely get comments that help me. By time you'll learn to judge your own work yourself. You don't need other people telling what looks good and what does not
