Default Fun w patterns

I made this pattern from the snake (live free of Die} and took the words out.I then fooled around with the childs face and used a blending mode on the face layer and used pattern overlay and played with the scaling of the pattern. I have never used the patternoverlay in the Layer styles box and it blew my mind. Photoshop is always is blowing my mind. I love to fool around with patterns.
How about a contest or tute about putting tattoos on people's faces. The tatoos would have to look real. This is something I ve wanted to do but have'nt done it yet.

Default Interesting, BUT....

Too fragmented a pattern.
There are some good tuts online regarding digital tatoos.
One of the first considerations in YOUR mind should be 'cohesiveness'...
You should try the Offset function and make your 'Live Free or Die' snakes pattern seamlessly. There are also many tuts online on how to do this.
Plus, emphasising the eyes, with the bad patterning of the snakes image does nothing to really help this image. You don't even have the edges of the pattern overlay matching the outlines of the child/doll head you've used.

Good concept, but you really need to clean up the technical application. This is just too rough and disconjointed to be considered a good design.

Madster
I'm new to photoshop. Does the offset button get rid of those small gaps in the tiles. I want the fragmented snakes but I don't want those little gaps around each square.
Also I am trying to show an enthusiam here, of something I came across and wanted to share, niave and crude as it my be compared to the work of seasoned pros, I had fun doing it. Words like should and bad are better suited for other activities like sports or the military.

I'd appreciate it if you would upload your snake tile. I'm shure that the snakes do not touch the borders which is why you get this tile effect.

Ferlin, can you remember that you asked me last time how to quote and that we also talked about how to use Bold characters?

I noticed a few times that you're trying to use bold characters in your post without succes.

Make sure that the option Always allow BBCode in your profile is set to Yes.

BBCode is needed to use things like Bold, Italic, Underline, color, but also to Quote someone.

Yes Gausian,
This is bothering me. The bbcode is always on. I do what you said by selecting the word or name The word is surrounded bya blue square when selected right?
Then I click on the B but the name doe'snt turn bold.

I have a Mac -could that have something to so with it[/code]

Sorry Ferlin, I only have experience with Windows.
I do know that several of our members use a Mac and they never complained that it doesn't work, so it should be possible to solve this problem.

Hopefully someone with a Mac who reads this post can help you.
If not, then you might consider to contact our members Rantin Al or Kiwi; they both use a Mac.

In the meantime, here's a temporary solution to use bold:
type in front of the text that needs to be bold and type where you want the bold to end.
