hmm... well i checked out your stuff and... and can't "see" anything wrong... hmmm.... this is very odd. I'd have to say at this point i'm stumped...

Is your monitor's display deoth at 16bit or 32bit? If it's not on 32bit, try changing it to that and do the tute again... just to rule this out as a possible reason.

hmm... change your screen res from 1024 down to 960 Stick. 1280x1024 is not a proportionate scale. 1280x960 is.

Just so you know... things may appear a tad stretched vertically.

ok heres the thing.....

I checked the effect on 4 machines, 3 pc's and 1 mac...

The only machine it worked on without jaggered edges was the mac, all three pcs had different displays (15 in LCD, 17 in CRT, 19 in CRT) and all in 32 bit colour.

Do you work on a mac by chance? If so can you test the effect on a pc anywheres?

Its not an anti aliasing thing cause it does that, its not a display factor cause have checked all available ranges, and I also tried in 96 ppi as thats what most pc diplays run at, macs 72 ppi. I have tried in 16 bit and 32 bit. I also tried changing to adobe 1998 rgb colour profile to emulate mac default and still no go. arggghhhhhhh i have 0000000 clue.

hahaha ya me too man, ME TOO! Aaagh! [upset] [bustagut]

Well it won't have anything to do with being on a PC or Mac... and i use PC too btw. It has nothing to do with your doc setting being at any specific dpi either. That's only a print specific setting.
You're sure that you did/do not have the layer's transparency "locked" or any selection going at the time you apply the spherize filter... right?

Cuz that's about the only other thing i can think of that would cause the lines to get messed up.

Does ANYone have ANY other ideas on this???! [confused]
