For a second it's ok, you should try smaller things first in my opinion. This wallpaper isn't that bad but the background needs more detail in it. The ray effects is good but would have been better if it was to give light to a wallpaper rather than to fill it, especially in this case. Font is ok, can be better and more dramatic but then, because of the background, it would have lost the effect so good placing of the font. Lastly, work on the render effects, the best way I have found is to try your own and don't be afraid to mess around with Photoshop to get the best effects. Quite good, you will eventually improve a lot by practice.

i dont really like it either.
the bg needs more work
and the idea of the text doesnt looks that good either.
BUT
for your 2nd ever wall its ok.
