Might sound a bit noobish but when people talk about textures in sigs, walls etc..

what are they talking about?

Ok, a texture is an image, most of the time abstract which is used for either backgrounds or to create a nice effect or an old effect, it depends on what you are after.

There are different type of textures for example the ones for walls are mostly grunge-blurred textures whiel the ones for icons (avatars) are light textures or masking textures which are used to create a blocky type of effect.

So from that link in the thread above, the deviant-art one, there jpeg images (i think)

do i just save them and put the into my image or something?

Download the texture you want, then put it over the work you are working on in the desired place and set this to what looks best like overlay etc..
