I have a folder of jpgs that I would like to import to PS and change the size for all the pics. Is there a batch command or any way to shorten what looks like a long process??
The best way to do this is with actions. These are exactly what you are talking about, regular commands that are repetitive in nature. To record an action, open your document. Then go to your actions palette by going to Window-->Actions. Then hit the arrow button on the top right of the actions palette. Choose "New Action". Name it then hit Record. Then do to your picture what you want done(Image Size, Save and Close in your case). Then when you're done hit the Stop button in the actions palette. This will save the action. One tip about the actions Palette if youre doing repetitive work one by one is to change the view to button view. This is done through also hitting that little arrow in the top right. Button mode allows you to open your document, and then hit a button in the actions palette and it applies the actions. Actions are really neat because they can even let you use "Save for Web.." as an action, and save and close are also an action. Just do some experimenting and you'll see what I mean....When you're done with your action go to File-->automate-->Batch. Choose your action, your source and destination folder and let er rip!
