Personally, I have never enjoyed reading a book assigned by the curriculum. This also holds true with summer reading. The closest I have ever gotten to enjoying a book was with Caine Mutiny. Now that summer is approaching, summer reading is showing its ugly head, I need RC's advice on which books to read. I must read 2.
Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress
The Bean Trees
The Bonesetter's Daughter
Dracula
The Endurance: Edward Shackleton's Legendary Antarctic Expedition
Franny and Zooey
Girl with a Pearl Earring
Montana
Moonstone
Nickel and Dimed
The Perfect Storm
The Secret Life of Bees
Travels with Charley: In Search of America
Give me thoughts on plot, thrill, and a rating out of 10 of two books that you think I should read. Obviously, try to avoid spoilers, and it would help if you actually read the book.
1.The Endurance: Edward Shackleton's Legendary Antarctic Expedition
2.The Perfect Storm
1. Ship crashes, people have to survive in -30 or less degrees celcius, and must eat penguins to survive
along with that, avoid canibalism
2. watch the movie
Are you in high school Godzilla, cause we stopped getting summer reading assignments after the summer of 6th grade. Other than that, we read "The Outsiders", "The Odyssey", and "Romeo & Juliet", just to name a few.
As you can imagine, they were all wretchedly terrible and vomit invoking.
