This is the third grunge poster, the other two being Pearl Jam [link] and Audioslave [link]
Focused mainly on the grunge typography and texturing. Used textures from Resurgere [link] . You must check out their gallery. All of their stock is quality.
Worked on this for over a week, around 100 layers in it. The text washed out in the BG is from 3 of their songs - Man in the Box, We Die Young and Down in a hole. The picture is from an album cover. The picture's of their vocalist, Layne Staley. He passed away in 2002, his vocals were f**cking brilliant.
The typography is outstanding. That's what strikes me about this piece, although I'd move the cracks down a bit because it gets in the way of his face too much for me. Apart from that it's brill, KIU.
well you've most certainly improved during my absence.
use of textures has been done very well...text is pretty nice aswell. maybe add some lighting around the renders eyes, give the impression he's lookin up at the light or something.
Cant really tell you much...dont know much about the band, and what you've done - you've done pretty well.
