How do I change foreground & background colours in a pic Post #1 | | Guest | How do I change foreground & background colours in a pic
Hi!
Glad you got a newbie section! 'cos I'm rather lost on this one.
Probably simple, but I just can't figure it out. I REALLY enjoyed the tutorial here: http://photoshopgurus.info/intermedi...-further.shtml
My problem, is that near the bottom of the page, it says how you can just change the colours rather than do it all over again.
Question is "how"?
Instead of using F:255 211 38 and B:57 0 0, what say I wanted to use F:13 227 227 and B:196 196 196?
One way IS to start all over again... but is there perhaps one of those "magical" ctrl keys I could use or something to change the foreground & background colours throughout the pic?
Thanks a mil,
Scolls [confused]

How do I change foreground & background colours in a pic Post #2 | | Guest | Solution! ...and a further question...
Marvelous! So I get to answer my own question! LOL!
So I choose the foreground & background colours, in the "color" section, and then ctrl-u, hue/saturation & check "colorise"!
mmm... wonderful what a few hours staring at one's confused reflection in the screen can yield... :-D
Cool... I can breathe again!
Okay, but now how can I make these changes across all layers simultaneously? Or do I have to do them one at a time?

Welcome to PSG, Scolls, it's nice to see that you found the solution, and that you share it with others, very good attitude! :}
You could do a Hue/sat adjustment layer, for instance... with the same settings. and to make it work on the sphere only, Group it (CTRL+G)on top of the sphere layer... (you can duplicate it and group it for each shape)

How do I change foreground & background colours in a pic Post #5 | | Guest | How do I change foreground & background colours in a pic
Hi Pierre!
Thanks 4 the welcome!
I've only just started with PS, so if I may be so bold as to ask what that all means in "Newby-ish"?
I looked in the help, and found I could hold down the alt key & click between layers in th layers panel to group them. Marvelous as it seemed at the time, when I decided to do my newfound little trick, it applied the colour changes to only the layer that was highlighted?!?!
Is there a way to sorta just multi-select a couple of layers? Such that I can apply an effect to a bunch of layers I select?
Thanx

Thanks for the welcome, Wendy!
I like the "Scrolls" reference... don't worry - most ppl seem to add the "r"! LOL
Well, there's a little question above that I'm still stuck with...
I must say, that tutorial was really well done! For my first touch on photoshop, it was really nice to be able to actually "do" something with it!
Okay, so it never came out exactly like he did it, and I've yet to finish all the stuff on the last page of the tut, but had fun messing around with what I had so far... and this is what I got (attached)
Thanks again!

Yes, alt+click is the other way to create a clipping group.
You would need to duplicate the adjustment layer to group it with each layer, as there is no way to make a clipping goup with several base layers (otoh, you can clip several layers with one base layer).
Another solution is to create a set,and put all the layers you went to see affected in there, then put the adjustment layer as the top layer of the set. Now, change the set blending mode to normal... the adjustment layer affects only the contents of the set... is that what you wanted?
