Default Englands future is bright

There has been much media coverage iun recent days regarding the influx of internationals in the English premier League and it is reported to bring about a potential stagnation of British talent coming through the ranks, which may detriment the national team.

Middlesborough, Everton, and my own team Villa are giving youth a chance. Ok we are not top four teams challenging for champions league places yet but in a few years it could just be so.

The vast majority of English players in these teams are good enough to play withing the higher teir of the premiership and looking at the championship or league one (top end) there are players who could potentially get to the top level.

The problem which exists is money and pressure, lets start with pressure there is an expectation of the top four to win, win, win at all costs no nuturing or building success from scratch (even with Manchester united nowadays) If this was taken away then you would see more english players coming through.

Manchester United of 95/96 with the 'kids' were in a different era with only one team barley challenging them for the league, now its potentially four challenging them plus English teams have more respect and greater expectation to win in Europe. Meaning more pressure matches throughout the season. Look at Arsenal this season ten years ago they may have won the league with such a team ?

Money is another problem where english teams with good young players demand a huge fee for players without top flight experience. The business approach would be to have add-on fees rather than a huge transfer fee, then you would see more players coming through the leagues.

The top four teams are producing, but the second and third tier of the premiership and the championships top sides are producing and providing opportunities for these players to express themselves, why dont the top four do the same with English players. The England team may have much to gain from this overall ?
