I usually just cmd+T (free transform). Then you can right click to get to the other transformations OR you can hold modifier keys while you move the handles around to toggle into the other modes. That allows you to quickly do multiple transformations.

Good info MindBender! I like that CTRL+T and "right click" to quickly access the various transformation options. I'm not sure what you mean by this "you can hold modifier keys while you move the handles around to toggle into the other modes". [confused]

wbiss ? basically if you hold down cmd, option, or shift (ctrl, alt, shift) while you mess with the free transform handles, it changes which transformation you're performing. It also is different depending on when you hold each one down. So if you hold down CMD and then click and drag a corner, you're in destort. If you click and then hold CMD you get into skew. That's why they call it "free" transform. It allows you to quickly bounce between different kinds of transformations.
Most things in photoshop are effected that way by the modifer keys... that's why they call them modifers [righton]

I'll finish that sentence for you intlowner... we're awesome kids here! [bustagut] Good, good, good... you found out what you needed to know!
MindBender, [size=18px]thank you[/size] so much for the more detailed explanation! So, now I "get it"! [righton] Too cool B7! I love learning new short-cuts and all, but it's getting into the habit of putting them into practise that takes a while. I'll spend some time playing with that method and will eventually ("eventually" being the key word) walk away with the shortcuts ingrained... [innocent]
