Default Disappearing cursor

I'm using PS 7 and a Mac but I had this same problem with PS 6.

If I select a part of a picture with any of the Marquee or Lasso tools and then move a tool i.e. Wand, Clone or Eraser near the selected area the tool will flash off and on. As I move the tool away from the selected area the flashing on and off will slow down and eventually stay on all of the time.

Any idea what is causing this, it can be very annoying especially when I am trying to select a number of different locations that are close together and adding them together by holding down the Shift key. [upset]

Hi Limey...

I used to have that issue too, but on my PC. I believe it only existed for me during the PS6 times. For me, it was my mouse drivers... they had compatibility issues with Photoshop. I also had my cursor turn to a bar-code looking image... all cracked and pixelated.

I suggest you seek the newest drivers for your mouse/tablet device. Once i updated my mouse drivers, the problems were resolved. That's not to say your will be too, but it's where i suggest starting from.

Hope it helps.
If not... perhaps post this question to the Adobe Forum. Their tech guys should then provide a suitable answer/solution.
