Seems to me Lee, that they copied the original image to a new layer, slightly blurred it and selected one of the layer's blending modes (maybe in combination with transparency adjustment).

More about this in this thread;
http://www.photoshopgurus.info/forum...er=asc&start=0

The different blending modes are explained in this thread;
http://www.photoshopgurus.info/forum...blending+modes

In my attachment I'm showing you where you can find the layer's blending mode.

Btw, blending modes are a wonderful part of Photoshop; there are some amazing thing you can do with it, so never underestimate them
It's not always exactly important to know what every mode does (can be overwhelming); just experiment with them and soon you can achieve some great results.

TIP: If you click inside the blending mode box, it will turn grey (see attachment). From that moment on you can scroll through the different blending modes by using the up/down arrow keys on your keyboard.
This trick works with many selection boxes in Photoshop, for example the font box.

hmmmmm I came close to the look using a plugin xero - I will have to search for this to let you know where I found this plugin, I could probably do the same type of thing with Dreamsuite too ....... I just wanted to have a go to see if I could quickly get the same effect that is all...... of course it is always better to do it yourself where you have more control over it
sfm

edit....... now that I see the image again it is not close at all [bustagut] [bustagut] [bustagut] argh should go back to sleep he he he

Hey Gaus, thanks for the links and that tip. I had no idea you could highlight something and then scroll through the window to see different effects. That's a HUGE benefit. I'll try that with everything now.

I'll have to admit that I have not tried any of the blending options either. I need to devote some time to try that.....................gad, ANOTHER thing to try. [saywhat] There are sooooo many things in PS I need to "try."

Sue, that bottom one looks like you DID use Dreamsuite. Hmmm

You posted one image, with two different pics (one above the other) both with very different effects Lee! [stuned] [stuned] [stuned]

[confused] Unless I see the "original" picture (if it was, in fact, manipulated with PS) I won't even begin to hazard as to how this was done. I suspect that the pic that you posted is, in fact, a scan of hard copy, original art... [confused]

But yes, GOD BLESS, those 'blending modes'... go off an experiment 'heavily' with them! [righton]

Wendy - Huh? [confused] Do you have me mixed up with Sue? I didn't post two images on top of one another. If your mixing me up with Sue then please STOP IT! That's my job. [bustagut]

[confused] Don't know what you're talking about Lee... other than I agree that "mixing posts up" is your thing! [bustagut] [bustagut] [bustagut]

No, seriously now ... take a look at your "original image" (has nothing to do with what Sue posted)... I DO, in fact, SEE two different pics/artwork/effects.

[upset] [confused] Gosh, am I the only one to see this?
