Default opening files

Hello all.
Well here I go again. When I open a folder in my documents, my pictures while using photoshop I have no problem opening the picture I want. What seems to be the problem is that when I just go to my pictures folder and double click a picture , it will open photoshop but not the photo I selected. Have it set to open this type picture with photoshop.Am I missing a setting some where?

you got me on this one...... [confused] double clicking an image if you have it set to open with photoshop should open that image you double clicked as you say..... perhaps it is one of those...... twilight zone moments? 8[

You may need to go into the file association dialog and setup the DDE ( Dynamic Data Exchange ) option. That usually has something to do with files being opened in their associated apps.

In the image below i have all the dialogs open that you need to, to get to this setting. You'll notice a %1 at the end of the application path in the example image. Make sure you add the space before the "%1".

Your file association windows should look very much the same as this.

If you open any Folder, then the TOOLS menu, then "Folder Options...", "File Types...", then click the "Advanced" button... you'll get to where these dialogs show in the example image.

You may be using a different version of Windows so a couple of these notes may differ from mine. In that case, any questions, just ask.

hey there guys..

I was just wondering (as a result from the pic's theKeeper posted!) what kind of OS do most of you use??

As far as I know Mac's (Apple) are the more regular used Puters used on the American continent with there usual OS. But here in Europa normal (haha normal to us) PC's with Windows are outruling Mac's by 7 to 1 at least. But Linux and other Unix OS systems are advancing rapidly on the Windows Monopoly. So what are you guys using??

And one special question to Maestro Mark! As far as I could see on the pictures you posted.. you're using Windows (XP I presume) but where did you get the lay out????? It's WICKED!!

well laterzzz!!!

That's a WinXP custom theme. I can't recall where i got it from, but it needs an app called StyleXP to make Windows apply it. Unlike Window Blinds, StyleXP does not need to be running in memory to do it's thing. Once the theme is applied, the app shut's down.

I'm glad to see that Mark has sorted you out PAKMN! [righton]

AraVitz, I run with Windows XP as well.

For anyone who's interested, the XP "skinning" software that Mark refers to (Style XP) can be had here http://www.tgtsoft.com/ Themes (galore) can be found here http://www.themexp.org/ and the actual skin that Mark uses is called "Caution" http://www.themexp.org/search.php?tx...=38&submit.y=8 How do I know, well I use the same skin! ;\
