Default Tiny Details....

Good morning,

I have a question about pixelation within very small objects. The issue that I'm having is when I create an odd shape that is rather small, I still get an ugly jagged edge around it. Blurring the channel, messing with the levels, it doesn't seem to do any good because the image is so small. If I zoom in & select a blurred channel, it still selects the exact same perimeter as the original layer even though it's blurred (because it's so small, it's seen as the same object). Any way I can get around this and have nice smooth edges? Please see the example.

Take care!
Celldss

Welcome to the community celldss, hope you enjoy your stay. [honesty]

You can clean those lines up slightly by using the Polygon selection tool and redefining the outside edges. Select tightly around the object -- manually -- then inverse the selection, and delete. And that's as good as you'll get.

You won't get super clean lines in PS with something that small i'm afraid. PS is pixel based, and as such, is not capable of producing that level of line/edge clarity -- even on much larger shapes. A vector program such as XaraX or Illustrator is what you'll need for that kind of quality. ( see example image )

Although PS does have vector capabilities, they're not really true vector... they're still based on pixel rendering.

The best you can hope for is to put that object against a medium to dark background, and the lines will appear to be very clean.
