Default Spurs in for Dutch Star

A hot prospect for Martin Jol is Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder, who looks set to leave Ajax Amsterdam after a successful career in Holland. As Sneijder appears determined to move on and insists he wants to be at another club by the start of next season:
"The only way to break with Ajax is by kicking up a riot. But that's not who I am." He said.

He also added: "This is the moment for a transfer.

"I have been playing in the first team at Ajax for five years. And Ajax doesn't want to let me walk out for free in two years' time?"

Playmaker Sneijder has been linked with Tottenham, Villa and Valencia. However Valencia, despite being the favourites to gain his signature have had 2 bids already rejected and look as though they're going to pull out. Because of Ajax wanting more money, so it looks as though the door is open for anyone else interested and at the moment only Villa and Spurs are looking to sign him despite his quality.

Born in Utrecht, Sneijder has found his way into regular first-team football in Amsterdam after rising up through the youth ranks. Standing a mere 5ft 7in, he is firm on the ball with great control and is two-footed and has broken into the Dutch team.

He looks like a more realistic suitor to the attacking midfield place behind the front two. With pace on the wing from Aaron Lennon and Sneijder in midfield, Spurs would have more bite and pace to feed Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane.

He's going to Valencia once they make a fresh new offer (which they will)

Sneijder wants to play in the UEFA Champions League. Spurs and Aston Villa aren't in the CL. He wants CL football and he wont get that at those 2 clubs.

You should stick to signing rubbish English players like Jenas and Routledge.
