woops, i forgot about him.

Wengers reluctant to play him there though

He was amazing last year especially in the CL, played with passion.

Should have played him in the final against barca, cole fucked up on numerous occasions in that match.Oh well..

Quote:
William Gallas has denied Chelsea's claims that he threatened to score an own-goal, if he was selected by the club.

The former Caen and Marseille defender responded angrily to his former club's claims after the Stamford Bridge outfit issued a statement regarding Gallas on the club's official website on Monday evening.

The France international finally ended his spell with The Blues on Thursday's transfer deadline day, as he moved to London rivals Arsenal as part of a deal that saw left back Ashley Cole head to Stamford Bridge.

In a surprise move, which The Blues claim was to inform supporters regarding their reasons for selling Gallas to The Gunners, the Premiership champions claim he refused to play against Liverpool in last season's FA Cup semi-final.

They also state that the 29-year-old threatened to score an own goal, get sent off or make deliberate mistakes if Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho opted to select him.

Gallas, however, rejected Chelsea's claims and accused the West Londoners of having a lack of class and 'hiding behind false accusations'.

"I am surprised and shocked by these remarks," Gallas said. "I never said that I would score an own goal.

"I was very firm in my will to leave, that is clear, and I will explain at the appropriate time why.

"If people want to hide behind these eccentric charges to explain my departure instead of assuming their responsibilities in front of their supporters, then they can do.

"But I am not sure that it misleads many people. I spent five years at Chelsea. During those five years, I always gave my best and showed how much I was honoured to wear the shirt.

"All this is very, very petty on behalf of Chelsea. But at the same time, coming on behalf of its new leaders, that does not surprise me.

"Even if Chelsea has much money, its new leaders lack class."
Hmm wonder whats the big secret.

In my opinion, it's Arsenal who have done the better business, they got a player which is equivalent to him when it comes to quality and got 5ml extra as well. Besides that, Cole is over-rated.

I just think it's 'My Daddy is bigger than your Daddy', and argument which means they will never back down as they believe they are right.

We'll only play Gallas @ LB until Clichy is back, Gallas has versitility which is what we really need at the back. TBH Gallas is lucky that Chelsea wanted Cole, otherwise he'd be stuck at Chelsea. He had a ticket to leave the club so to speak.

Mourinho waned cole badly. It was very clear...Bringing the best offensive left back in the world is a great advantage to his team. It gives them so much more attacking options.

If i was Gallas i would be very dissapointed if they played me in left back after the big problems it made with chelsea...And i thought Flamini was injured? I know clichy is going to be back but i think he's got at least a month to go, so i mean who will be playing left back till he gets back? Gallas understands that's it's temporary and comprises then it would all be good.

Arsenal did some really good business on deadline day - getting Baptista and Gallas for Reyes and Cole. Even if you leave out the 5m, i think a straight swap would suit Arsenal.

Both players behaved in a pretty immature manner before their transfers. It was kinda pathetic actually - Gallas not turning up for practise and Cole making stupid remarks to promote his new book.

Every story has 2 sides i guess - its tough to come to a conclusion about what actually happened.

Liverpool's defence being problematic, they need pace at the back.
