Well, time travelling is possible, but limited to 24 hours only. If you can make a jump from Chritsmas Island to Honolulu, you will have had time-travelled.
On another note,
I'm just lazy to check things out myself. I understand what is meant by GMT but what about other terminology like EST/CST/Pacific/Mountain??. Why can't everyone just follow the standard GMT/UCT timezone. No offense, but I really hate it when people uses non-standard units of measurement. Especially US, why must they use miles instead of km, pounds instead of kg, feet instead of metres...
It gets me confused when someone ask me "Are you able to play this afternoon?". Uhuh, but where do you live?
Solstice
Now comes the other question. Why is it that Christmas is always associated with Winter? Yes it falls on December but in other parts of the world, it could be experiencing summer. Is it an act of ignorance? or is it that all Christians reside in the Northen Hemisphere.
Anyway, I am living right at the equator where the seasons are is particularly boring. I'd be interested to know, (if you experience the 4 seasons) how it is like down there. In the most extreme cases, How long is your daylight time during winter and summer seasons.
Does it affect work/school/sleeping_pattern/etc?
The United States' refusal to us the SI system is something I never understood myself. It's madness
Christmas is the celebration of the day that Christ is born; why does it matter what the season is
The longer days and nights aren't all that noticeable here in Southern California, since we're still fairly close to the equator. I very much want to live a part of my life somewhere where we get real seasons too. In SoCal the seasons are warmer, warm, and not as warm.
