So I just watched the democratic town hall debate on CNN. There was a lot of good stuff going on there. Hillary did very well in my opinion and solidified her position as the front runner, however, so John Edwards and Barack also made extremely strong presentations. What struck me the most was Gov. Bill Richardson who I really think did the best during the debate. Everyone else was meh and Dennis Kucinich still looks like a keebler elf. Discuss the 2008 election from the democratic side.
Serious discussion, no ignorant posts here please.
Honestly, I dont think Hillary or Barak have a chance. Now, I am not sexist or racist, but when we are in an age where people cannot understand differences in eachother (gays), I dont think the normal person would acccept a change such as a female/black president. Is that sad? Yes, very, but I just dont see it happening.
John Edwards is good, but simply not good enough. At least Kerry is out of the picture.
One good thing about Edwards, I may add, quite cynically, is his wife having cancer. If she dies before the primaries, he may garner enough sympathy vote for his winning it (Though this is very unlikely because of Hilary). If he someone manages to win the primaries though, the democrats are almost likely to lose the election, unless they throw in a retard.
If Edward's wife dies after the primaries prior to election, sad for him, because the sympathy vote would have helped. A good line for him to run is medical reform. Criticise the Bush administration for the failure of Medicaid and Medical even though it's not totally dubya's fault. It gets reinforced by his sick wife.
One guy I can't stand is Lieberman. I have no idea why he is a democrat, since he is clearly a Republican on issues like Iraq and Gay rights, even though he is for gun control.
I am going to digress to the Republicans now. Hide.
I like Chuck Hagel. If there's any republican deserving of a vote, it's him, and perhaps McCain.
If either Obama/Hillary were to become front runner or even running vice, the democratic would lose in a land slide. The slaughter would make a slaughterhouse or bombing of Dresden look like Disney World. 60% of the fucking US still believes that the world was made in 6 days. Every damn fundamentalist/racist/sexist would come storming out of the closets and overrun the polls. I'd love to believe we have moved beyond segregation and prejudices, but reality speaks differently from personal experiences. It would kick ass if they won, but the probability of them winning is... well, I might as well go out and buy a lotto ticket.
I'd like Al Gore to run >_> This country still has ways to go to finally break down its closet prejudices. I'd probably vote for them anyway, (dem that is) unless the republicans got Ron Paul as a front runner. Now that's a no nonsense, no BS type of guy with a plan. Joe Biden is also k, he at least has attempted at some planning for withdrawal. I hate politicians that beat around the bush and talk about ideals without action.
