It looks like Joey Barton is on his way to Newcastle and he was on Sky sports news at the weekend saying how he'd love to play alongside David Beckham in the England team. He's a decent player but no more than that, and I have never known a player use the media so much to try and gain a place in the national side. It seems almost every month there's a new statement coming from him on how he should be playing for England. I think he'll do ok for Newcastle but he's no better than Scott Parker or Kevin Nolan for that matter.
City fans is he as good as he thinks he is? Or would he be better suited manipulating the media for a career? Let me know your views.
Everyone has seen potential in Barton and without all the off the pitch antics is a pretty good player, Big Sam has seen this potential like the rest of the premier league has and wants to work on it.
It's great that BS has started early on setting out a squad for next year, no dodgy last day deals for us this August 31th thank you very much!
